CCC Supports Undocumented Students

"City Colleges of Chicago is committed to ensuring both student access and success for all students," and "seeks to foster a welcoming environment for all students, regardless of immigration status. Numerous initiatives, both within the institution and in partnership with immigrant-serving allies, work to ensure City Colleges of Chicago responds to new immigration policies affecting our students so they may be prepared to pursue their life’s goals" (CCC Undocumented Student Services).

Who are Undocumented Students?

Who Is Included in the Term “Undocumented”?
Immigrants Rising defines the term “undocumented” broadly to include all immigrants who reside in the United States without legal status. This includes individuals who:

  • Entered Without Inspection (also known as “EWI”)
  • Entered with Legal Status but Overstayed
  • Have or Previously Had Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA)
  • Are Currently in the Process of Legalizing
  • Vulnerable Immigrants
