
Searching the SEC/EDGAR:
Use the search box on the website. Select the result that includes the "ticker symbol" for the company. A ticker symbol is a unique code used to identify the company on the stock market.

Access Reports:
Once you are on the search results, you should see a page that includes all of the filings with the SEC. This is where you can find the 10-k.

10-k documents can go over 100 pages, so you probably won't be reading the whole thing! You can review the SEC's guide to reading a 10-k. You can also start by taking a look at the table of contents. For your assignment, the best places to start will be Item 1 and Item 1a.

You can also access company information from their corporate website. Note that this site is not the same as the front facing site for consumers. It can normally be found by looking for a section called "for investors" or in the "about us" section.
For example, below is the main Starbucks website.

When you scroll to the bottom you will see a link to their corporate site listed as "Investor Relations." This is where you will find financial information and more.
