St. Hyacinth Basilica (https://sthyacinthbasilica.org ) is one of three minor basilicas in Chicago, IL. The other two are Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica in East Garfield Park (http://ols-chicago.org ) and Queen of all Saints Basilica in the Sauganash neighborhood of Forest Glen. The Center on Halsted (centeronhalsted.org) provides very important services to the LGBTQ+ community and especially LGBTQ+ youth, who may have been isolated in some way from their communities. Their motto is “advancing the LGBTQ movement.”[1] Student researchers might request to get involved with some of their programs or to interview a staff member who could assist them in understanding LGBTQ+ concerns.

The Wrightwood Neighbors Association per their website (http://www.wrightwoodneighbors.org ) “is a community group of neighbors and businesses working together to help improve [their] neighborhood in Chicago, IL. In the Lincoln Park neighborhood, we are an an (sic) all volunteer community group for all people living in the area bounded by Halsted and Fullerton and Lakewood and Diversey.” As a neighborhood, their website offers a number of resources for its residents as well as events to build the community. The Reveler nee Riverview Tavern
This restaurant used to contain the museum of Riverview Theme Park, which closed. Now it contains memorabilia of early cinema that took place in Chicago. There’s a book called Hollywood in Chicago that gives a much more thorough history (See “General & Secondary References.”). But, here students can see the old movie posters, etc. Students might also check out the posters and cite one that is in the restaurant.
