Happy new year! The HWC Library invites you to visit and explore the services and resources we offer the HWC community including research assistance, access to course textbooks, books for research or for leisure reading, a quiet space to study, curriculum support, and much more. We are located on the 5th floor. Stop by! Our Spring 2025 hours of operation are Monday - Thursday from 8AM to 8PM and Friday from 8AM to 4PM.

Please note that the library will be closed on Monday, January 20, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. national holiday.

Did You Know?

In addition to the many academic and enrichment resources the library offers, the library is a safe and welcoming space that offers:

  • Computers and two all-in-one printers / scanners / copiers.
  • Three study rooms for group work or single users.
  • A quiet, peaceful atmosphere to study or relax.
  • Two single-use / all-gender restrooms (the only ones in the building).

Chat Reference Hours

Librarians are available via chat during the fall semester. Chat hours are: Monday - Thursday: 8:30 am - 10 pm; Friday and Saturday: 8:00 am - 10:00 pm; Sunday: 10 am - 10 pm. The chat box feature will open on the lower right corner of any library page including the main CCC Libraries information page.

On the HWC Library homepage, you can also chat with a librarian by clicking on the blue "Chat With A Librarian" button on the left side of the page.

New Database: IPA Source

We now have access to IPA Source, a database for singers and music teachers seeking comprehension and accurate pronunciation of foreign language texts. IPA Source includes "the largest collection of literal translations and International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) transcriptions on the web." The thousands of professionally translated and transcribed titles come from 925 composers and 1,144 poets and include arias, art song and liturgical texts in English, Spanish, Latin, French, German and Italian.

Please be aware that access to IPA Source is currently limited to on-campus use only. It cannot be accessed remotely. Please reach out to an HWC librarian with questions.
