The Library's website has a new look! Visit our homepage to access online resources and learn more about what the HWC Library can offer.

Librarians are available via chat during the summer semester. Chat hours are: Monday - Thursday: 8:30 am-10 pm and Friday - Sunday: 10 am-4 pm.The chat box feature will open on the lower right corner of any library page including the main CCC Libraries information page.

On the HWC Library homepage, you can also chat with a librarian by clicking on the blue "Chat With A Librarian" button on the left side of the page.

Are you in need of more online library support for you and / or your students? Are you interested in transitioning from traditional course textbooks to open educational resources (OER) and other non-textbook course materials? The Library can help!

Summer is an excellent time for us to create and/or curate library content for your fall classes, so please reach out to us about the research projects you will be assigning.  

• If your department offers courses that have identical research projects, we can build a page that encompasses all of them. 

• If your department has many kinds of research projects, we can build a page with more general information. 

• If your class is doing its own thing, we can make a custom page for you. 

• If you are looking for OER for your class, please review our local guide and email us for further assistance.

What follows in Zakiya Dalila Harris' debut novel, The Other Black Girl, is a story filled with suspense, dark comedy, and social commentary. Visit the library for this and other books to fill all your summer reading needs.

Textbook didn't arrive in time for the first day of class? Not able to purchase a copy of a textbook you need this semester? Did you know that the HWC Library has a collection of current textbooks (also known as our Course Reserves)?  Stop by to find out if the Library has what you are looking for. While items in Course Reserve cannot be taken out of the library, we have copiers and scanners available if you need specific chapters in class or at home. Please keep in mind that there may be instances in which the Library does not have a textbook being used in the current semester. Visit us for more information. The HWC Library's summer hours are Monday - Thursday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. 

Faculty, as you plan for your fall courses don't forget that your colleagues in the Library are here to help and collaborate. Some of the ways in which the HWC Library can help you and your students, include:

• Library instruction sessions (general and / or tailored to a specific assignment)

• Placing current required texts and other materials in our course reserves 

• Assistance with OER materials 

• Collection development (send us your purchase or subscription suggestions)

• Weaving information literacy skills into your syllabus and / or assignments
