Tips for Spotting Fake News

When reading controversial stories you must be especially careful to avoid fake news. Some tips!

  1. Look for misspellings
  2. Avoid sources using ALL CAPS
  3. Check the date!
  4. Check for sources and citations
  5. Look out for propaganda

Fact Check

Fact Check websites are a great way to verify topics. 

According to recent Gallup Polling, 35% of Americans believe that Black People are treated fairly. The #BlackLivesMatter movement has been credited with bringing issues of justice and inequality to the forefront. See the Gallup Center for Black Voices for related polling.
