Malcolm X College Library Virtual Exhibits

Monthly featured resources and CCC collections

Celebrate Juneteenth with the Malcolm X College Library! While the Emancipation Proclamation took effect on January 1, 1863, it took many years before it would be implemented throughout the country. Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, the date when General Order No. 3 was issued, announcing the end of slavery in Texas, and liberating more than 250,000 enslaved Black people. This month the Malcolm X College Library is spotlighting resources available through the library to amplify this celebration.
